Stromness is situated to the west of the Orkney mainland, where the Northlink Ferry ‘Hamnavoe’ docks. The town and harbour are steeped, in history and has a character of its own, with its winding cobbled street and many lanes heading up towards Brinkies Brae.

Learn about the rich history of the area and visit the Stromness Museum – Hudson Bay Company, Arctic Whaling, Dr John Rae Arctic explorer, Captain Cook, First and Second world war, Scapa Flow to name but a few of the displays.

Innertown Apartments complemented by the easy access, it offers to outdoor pursuits such as fishing, loch or sea, 18 hole Golf course beautifully set overlooking Hoy Sound, you can even play a round late in the evening, with the long light hours in the summer. Horse Riding, Walking, Climbing, Cycling, Kayaking, and Dive in Scapa Flow where the entire German fleet, of 74 ships were ordered to scuttled, on the 21st June 1919, many of the ships were salvaged, but eight German wrecks still remain.
The most northerly whiskey distillery, 200-year-old “Highland Park” is one of the very best: sample a dram of this particularly fine single malt when you’ve finished your tour.
St Magnus Cathedral commissioned in 1137, is the finest medieval building in northern Scotland.
Be amazed, at the presence of many species of birds and wildlife in their natural habitat. Close proximity to other areas of interest, such as, world famous Maeshowe, Ring of Brodgar and the Neolithic village of Skara brae.
Take a trip to the island of Hoy (boat leaves Stromness) and visit Rackwick and hike up the hill to see the “Old Man of Hoy”, standing at 137m, makes it Europe’s tallest sea stack, and you will feel your in a completely different world! - A very magical island worth a visit.
Local Swimming pool and Fitness suite, Sauna and Jacuzzi open daily. Or just relax on a bench along the sea front to eat Orkney ice cream and Orkney fudge (made in Stromness) and watch the local creel and fishing boats come in and the ‘Hamnavoe’ dock.
